Thomas Aquinas

Also known as the "Angelic Doctor," St. Thomas Aquinas was a medieval theologian whose writings played a major role in shaping Western philosophy. This personal project was a challenge in trying to sculpt 3D figure based of paintings. Because all art of Aquinas was made centuries after his death, I was left with a lot of liberty in choosing between variations in his traditional depictions.
